Typical sizes. Shirt cuffs take the front size or one size down, and jacket sleeves are usually 24L whatever the front size. Chunky knits go up to 54L, and oversized coats take 48L.

Ligne (L) is the unit the button trade uses on spec sheets and purchase orders. 1L = 0.635 mm (1/40 inch), so 40L equals 1 inch.
